BMX riders these days are doing some ridiculous stunts (some dude recently did a triple backflip — go ahead, check out the video on the Internet). This weekend local company Misled Clothing, along with Beechmont Scion, will offer a chance for those who have only seen such ridiculousness on TV to have an up-close-and-personal view at the second-annual Big Ed's BMX Bash, an all-day event incorporating a BMX contest, motorcycle meet, car show and live music. The BMX dirt-jumping contest will feature several professional riders and will be open to amateurs as well. There will also be an area designated for anyone interested in showing a motorcycle or custom car, from early hot rods to newly tricked-out German rides. Metal bands will perform after the event. Noon-8 p.m. July 23 (rainout date July 30). Admission is $5; kids under 10 are free. BMX contest practice starts at noon; contest around 2 or 3 p.m. Big Ed's House of Rock, 1726 E. Ohio Pike, Amelia.
