On the day before Easter, Fountain Square turns into a kiddie free-for-all with a giant egg hunt. Children will be divided into three age groups (ages 2-3, 4-6 and 7-9) with staggered starts and let loose on the square to find brightly colored eggs filled with Graeter's chocolate, candy or tickets to the Newport Aquarium and Ride the Ducks (those land/water sightseeing things). Children who find the special “golden eggs” will get a basket of goodies.
The Easter Bunny will also be on hand, as will face painters and the Newport Aquarium's Shark Squad. Sweet Pea, the Newport Aquarium's female Shark Ray, is celebrating her fifth birthday from April 3-11 at the Aquarium.
Festivities begin at 11 a.m. on Fountain Square.
