Arynn Blazer and Joel Blazer are a quintessential example of Cincinnatians’ pragmatic approaches to being working artists. The couple work their 9 to 5 jobs, raise their family and create/sell their art in their very spare “spare time”— showing at galleries whenever possible, but also selling their work regularly in coffee shops, boutiques and other non-traditional art spaces.
Working with various media, the prolific artists draw, paint, collage, embroider, make videos and prints, knit, etc., etc. For their upcoming exhibition at 71 Gallery (their first show together in a couple of years), the two will be showing all new work under the title Piece Makers.
Opening reception: 5-9 p.m. On view through Dec. 5. 2609 Vine St., Corryville, facebook.com/71gallery.
