Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Director Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles), working with the support of executive producer Michael Bay, places a huge target on himself here with this attempt to revive the 1980s cartoon heroes, yet again, as a potential live-action franchise. Inexplicably, Bay has transformed The Transformers into a global ATM despite the narrative and visual incoherence of his CGI set-pieces, and it appears that Liebesman is dutifully ready and willing to follow in his footsteps with the fighting sewer-dwellers taking it to the streets, with the aid of reporter April O’Neil (Bay eye candy Megan Fox) in their battle against the nefarious Shredder and his Foot Clan army of ninjas. Expect lots of flying fists, feet, and whatever it is that turtles have, and not much else. Now in theaters. (PG-13) Not screened in time for review
