This Saturday is Community Art Centers Day. Now in its third year, the ArtsWave-sponsored event celebrates the positive impact that local art centers have on the many neighborhoods of our fair city. One of my personal favorites, the Kennedy Heights Arts Center, is hosting its second annual Art Parade to commemorate this day. Featuring a bevy of floats, kinetic art, stilt walkers and a samba drum ensemble, the parade begins at noon on Kincaid Road and ambles east along Montgomery Road until coming to rest at the doorstep of this venerable institution. Afterward the festivities continue with live music, art activities and ice cream. Bring your family and support the Kennedy Heights Art Center’s continued good works!
