Clowns, chainsaw murderers and various grim reapers are loose in Newtown. The winding corn maze is home to other nasty folks including a giant furry man (Bigfoot with an angry streak) and various crazed hillbillies who are none too happy with you treading on their property.
It’s a mish mash of the archetypical Jungian gallery of woodsy villains and straightforward in its theme: Stuck in a corn maze is a bad, bad place to be. The Field of Fright is the closest outdoor haunt to the city and as such offer frights that are mild enough for younger folks and city slickers who are too chicken to venture further out into rural Ohio and Kentucky.
The Field is but one of the attractions: There’s a traditional corn maze, a tractor pulled train for little ones, refreshments, food and pumpkins. All of this with DJ’d music by 96 Rock. (Reviewed by Stephen Carter-Novotni)
