"A Critical Conversation on Immigration" is the title of a free program from 4-5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Gallagher Student Center Theater at Xavier University. Panelists include Oscar Chacón, executive director of the National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities; Sylvia Castellanos, director of the Coalition for the Rights and Dignity of Immigrants; and Tony Stieritz, director of social action for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Followers of Jesus and Allah Talk
"Christians and Muslims: Toward a Shared Future" is the topic of a presentation at Xavier University at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 7 at the Schiff Family Conference Center in the Cintas Center. Human Rights Program
"Diversity: Engaging Your Global Future Now" is the theme of the Center for American and World Cultures' fall program series at Miami University. The program includes "Higher Ground: New Hope for Working Families and Their Children" at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in 100 Laws Hall and Human Rights and Social Justice Day from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 14 in Shriver Center multipurpose rooms A-C. Stand for Peace
The Women in Black have been steadfast in demonstrating against the war in Iraq since it started in 2003. Participants gather with signs in the traffic island at Vine Street and Central Parkways from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Mondays. All peacemakers are welcome, including men and people not dressed in black.
