It might be a few decades before Travelocity offers round trip tickets to the heart of the Orion Nebula, but that doesn’t mean we can’t catch a vivid glimpse of the ethereal realms outside Earth’s stratosphere until a market is cornered for space tourism. The OMNIMAX Theater at the Cincinnati Museum Center currently features Hubble, a mind-blowing ride into the cosmos that takes spectators to the edge of our observable universe alongside the Space Shuttle Atlantis STS-125 crew, offering dazzling views of our galaxy on a five-story, 72-foot-diameter domed screen with six-channel digital surround sound. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, the film guides viewers on a 45-minute trip past Saturn’s aurora, the Helix Nebula, the Pillars of Creation, the Andromeda galaxy and the Butterfly Nebula while recounting the epic journey of Hubble Space Telescope’s unrivaled success. Admission is $7.50 adults; $6.50 seniors; $5.50 children (ages 3-12).
