Poetry readings are multi-sensory experiences: One hears the words and watches the speaker while intuitively imagining the ideas in their head. Cy Press’ readings at Thunder-Sky, Inc. regularly start and end at local watering hole The Comet and subsequently wander over to the gallery just two storefronts away — so this Sunday’s upcoming “Cy Press Poetry @ Thunder-Sky” reading should appeal to your senses of smell and taste, as well. Cy Press’ Dana Ward organizes the near-monthly events, which this month includes readings by Matvei Yankelevich (NYC), Jennifer Scappettone (Chicago) and Cincinnati native/current Brooklyn, N.Y., resident Brett Price. As luck would have it, Antonio Adams’ first solo exhibition since 2009, Unrealized and Unforeseen, will be in its last few days of viewing at Thunder-Sky, so if you haven’t yet seen the show, take advantage of the opportunity before it comes down. 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. Thunder-Sky, Inc., 4573 Hamilton Ave., Northside.
