Amusement parks are already creepy after dark if you ask me, but when you add in hundreds of ghouls and monsters and pea soup fog, it becomes the stuff of nightmares. The Kings Island Halloween Haunt is loaded with haunted happenings; there are a dozen different haunted mazes for the intrepid to explore including the all-new Madame Fatale’s Cavern of Terror, a wax museum that’s filled with more ghouls than wax. There’s also Hot Blooded, a vampire-themed dance show that plays nightly and surprising terrors along the streets of the park. It’s jam-packed with October fun. 6 p.m.-1 a.m. Fridays; 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturdays. Tickets are discounted online. $25.99-$54.99. Kings Island Drive, Mason. visitkingsisland.com.
