Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) takes audiences behind the scenes of the start of WikiLeaks. Julian Assange (the enterprising and seemingly omnipresent Benedict Cumberbatch) and Daniel Domscheit-Berg (Daniel Brühl racing off after his tightly coiled performance in Rush) join forces to bird-dog the authorities on the global landscape by creating an underground network to ensure some degree of transparency. WikiLeaks becomes a forum for anonymous whistleblowers to present secret data, but it isn’t long before the platform draws attention and reprisals from the powers that be and, more intriguingly, the duo at the helm begin to question and doubt one another’s motives.
