After retiring from the Bengals at the end of the 1994 season, Cleveland native Tim McGee stayed in town and is now making his mark in the restaurant world instead of the football field. McGee, who also is a prominent sports agent, opened Geeter's Bar & Grill (854 Reading Road, Mason, 513-770-0667) at his McGee's Courts 4 Sports complex in Mason. Geeter's is a family-friendly sports bar that serves American comfort food in a beach atmosphere that includes a tiki bar, sand volleyball courts and sand soccer. Geeter's is also a favorite among McGee's former teammates, so you might find yourselves sharing wings with some NFL or other sports greats as you watch all the games. (Bill Hatfield)
CityBeat: What was your last great meal and where was it?
Tim McGee: Well, of course, it was at home cooked by my wife. But if you are talking at a restaurant, I love Anthony's in West Chester for their wings or J. Alexander for the ribs.
CB: How do you like being a restaurant owner?
TM: I really enjoy mingling with the customers, but it is a lot of hard work. Really hard work!
