The “festival season” in Cincinnati isn’t all about churches and food. Local music is often on display at various multi-band shows that offer a great representation of the various genres of Cincinnati music. This Friday at Covington’s Madison Theater, while not a “named” fest by any means, the collection of locals congregating offers a solid illustration of the fineness of our contemporary local Indie scene. The Sundresses (fresh off of their most successful tour run yet) headline, while Slow Claw, The Guitars (featuring former Death In Graceland members), Alt Hard Rock masters The Host, solo organic/electro artist Wake the Bear, Indie Roots fave Wonky Tonk and Rock/Blues/Funk group Lemon G round out this impressive bill. Slap a name on it if you want (something-palooza always works well), but if you want to hear what the local original music scene sounds like right now, just get yourself there. All ages. $8.
