HorrorHound Weekend has blossomed into a regionally recognized event, a horror movie extravaganza where rabid aficionados gather to share their love of the genre. For the uninitiated, the annual convention features celebrity panels (this year’s headliner is Evil Dead veteran Bruce Campbell), vendors, screenings and more. “I think the transformation of the event has helped gain attention — acquiring celebrity talent from current films and TV shows really assists in the word of mouth,” says Nathan Hanneman, HorrorHound’s organizer. “We also listen to the fans — when things go wrong, we go out of our way to fix it by next show. … It also may have helped when Jamie Lee Curtis pimped the show on The Tonight Show.” The weekend also features appearances by Sean Patrick Flannery (The Boondock Saints), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and Deborah Foreman (Valley Girl), among many others.

5-10 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. $25 per day; Saturday single-day tickets sold-out; $50 weekend passes. Sharonville Convention Center, 11355 Chester Road, Sharonville, horrorhoundweekend.com.
