Some holiday novelty shows get old with repetition, but Cincinnati Shakespeare Company seems to have struck gold with its annual production (now in its sixth year) of this mash-up of holiday tales that you probably remember from childhood — especially TV specials and classic stories. Four actors take 90 minutes to remind us of everything from The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman and It’s a Wonderful Life to Charlie Brown and Charles Dickens. The show is held together (although that’s totally the wrong description) by a very drunk Santa Claus, which should tip you off that this is definitely not one to bring the kids to see. But it’s a ton of fun for a night out with a group of friends on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings in the cozy Courtyard at Arnold’s Bar & Grill. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. with a seating for dinner from Arnold’s at 6 p.m. (for an additional fee) if you want to come and get a head start on the hilarity. There’s been such a demand for tickets over the years that Cincy Shakes offers several more performances on its main stage at 719 Race St., Downtown, on Dec. 22, 23 and New Year’s Eve.
