Lower East Side Stitches

Playing by ye ol' loud, fast rules, Lower East Side Stitches (from New York's Lower East Side, not Norwood), will invade the Queen City in support of their latest, confusingly titled effort, STAJA98L.E.S., on Ng Records. The Punk quintet tour constantly, having played shows with bands like Murphy's Law and Bouncing Souls, and they've got a staunch supporter in the one and only Joey Ramone. With energetic, refreshingly honest tunes, STAJA98L.E.S. blazes in that decidedly N.Y. way, heavy on spirit and intensity. The band's street-wise sound is tuneful, but not in that SoCal way, and it's aggressive, but not in the all-out Hardcore way, and it's this teetering that sets the Stitches apart.

Tuesday at Sudsy Malone's.
