This weekend, the Cincinnati Art Museum is offering a two-day workshop entitled “Drawing into Abstraction.” Local artist Debbie Brod will introduce adult participants to approaches to Realism and Abstraction. Brod has had more than a decade of experience teaching in area colleges and universities, regularly contributing classes to the Art Academy of Cincinnati’s community education program. Last year she received a residency from the Ohio Arts Council, where she worked on public art projects with high school and college-aged students. In her own work, Brod is always discovering inventive ways to incorporate the familiar into the delightfully unfamiliar. Cost is $10 for the general public and $5 for members, covering both days of the workshop, including materials. 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. And remember: parking at the museum for non-members is now $4. Get more information about the event here.
