Hermes might be the only one with winged sandals, but Cincinnati is the only place with flying pigs. It’s that time of year again — throw on your Asics and head downtown for the Flying Pig Marathon. Festivities kick off on Friday afternoon with the P&G Health & Fitness Expo; check out all the sponsors and vendors and, if you’re racing, pick up your events packet. Saturday starts bright and early as the youngsters take the spotlight during the Flying Pig Kids’ Marathon and the Flying Piglets Kids’ Fun Run. A pasta dinner on Fountain Square will ensure plenty of energy for Sunday’s main event. The wheelchair race begins at 6:25 a.m. followed promptly by the full and half marathons and the four-person relay. The weekend culminates in a five-hour fiesta — we’ll call it “Seis de Mayo” — at Yeatman’s Cove. For more information, visit www.flyingpigmarathon.com.
