Every once in a while, a candidate comes around and shows that an election is not just about advancing a political career or any other personal stake. Michelle Dillingham is one such person.
Not only does Dillingham maintain smart stances on the big issues facing the city — homelessness, income inequality, public safety, the streetcar and parking plan — but she also goes out of her way to make unique policy proposals to fix such issues.
Specifically, Dillingham’s Safe52 plan suggests targeted investments that tackle the real cause of crime: poverty, unemployment and the dwindling social safety net. Meanwhile, her 10-point inclusion plan — dubbed “A Seat at the Table” — provides some assurances that she will remain available and try to make the rest of City Hall accessible to the public.
