Have you ever considered the lives of the people who report on or provide photos of wars around the world? That’s the subject of Donald Margulies’ new play getting its regional premiere at Ensemble Theater of Cincinnati this month (through April 1). Nominated for a Tony Award in 2011, Time Stands Still focuses on Sarah, a photojournalist recovering from a roadside bomb explosion in Iraq, and James, a combat journalist who now writes movie reviews. They’re torn between lives of convention or adventure, and it’s about to get more complicated. Director Michael Evan Haney comes over from the Cincinnati Playhouse to stage this one, and his cast features Bruce Cromer, who’s turned in great performances this season at Cincy Shakes (A Man for All Seasons) and the Playhouse (Speaking in Tongues). This is the kind of provocative drama we’ve come to expect from ETC. $36-$42. 513-421-3555. 1127 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine.
