Dine out at a favorite restaurant Thursday and a portion of your check will benefit Caracole, a local nonprofit that provides housing and supportive services to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS in Southwest Ohio.

Dining Out For Life, an annual fundraising initiative created in Philadelphia in 1991, now involves more than 3,000 restaurants in 60 cities that each donate a portion of their proceeds to a licensed AIDS service agency in their city. Participating local restaurants include 20 Brix in Milford, Cumin in Hyde Park, Green Dog Café in Columbia Tusculum, Jean-Robert’s Table downtown and more — each donating up to 25 percent to the cause. You can also find a coupon online to take to McAlister’s Deli and T.G.I. Friday’s locations to donate 20 percent of your check.

So gather friends, make a reservation at a participating local restaurant and mention Dining Out For Life when you do. diningoutforlife.com/cincinnati.
