The mask in question from feature debut screenwriter Paul McCusker and director Chad Burns (Pendragon: Sword of His Father) is one of identity. William Reynolds (Andrew Cheney) served as a mercenary (a euphemism for a hired gun or an assassin) for the British East India Company before being doublecrossed by his superiors. Now, under an alias, Reynolds seeks to get the upper hand on his former employer, but he must do so by gaining the trust of an old love (Kara Killmer) and a colonial upstart by the name of Ben Franklin (Alan Madlane). Expect historic intrigue from this fictional action-adventure that also features character actor John Rhys-Davies. (Opens Friday at Mariemont Theatre) (PG) Not screened in time for review
