The Vespers

Nashville quartet The Vespers’ website labels the group a “Southern Roots Family Reunion,” a descriptor that gives potential fans the band’s regional location, a sense of the style of music played (Americana/Folk Pop) and a hint of the familial ties that play into their intuitive musical interaction. The foursome contains two brothers, Taylor and Bruno Jones, and two sisters, Callie and Phoebe Cryar, who combine to create a beautiful acoustic-based noise. The Vespers’ ever-widening success isn’t due to a label push or extensive marketing plan; the band grows its fan base largely via word of mouth and glowing press reviews, taking a DIY approach that has led to two acclaimed self-released albums, with another (funded by loyal fans through a Kickstarter campaign), appropriately titled The Ballad of Sisters and Brothers, on its way soon. The band’s Cincinnati stop is an all-ages show with guests Emily Edwards, Edward and Jane and Little Devices.
