Ohio's answer to the Allman Brothers, Ekoostik Hookah, are celebrating the release of their sixth CD, Sharp in the Flats, by doing what they do best: touring. The album is a collection of mostly unreleased Hookah songs (along with a funktastic cover of Billy Preston's "Sister Sugar") that were recorded live at The Odeon in Cleveland last April. The group's rootsy, bluesy jams lend themselves well to the live recording, as the band stretches their feel-good songs across two groovy discs, with plenty of extended improvisations that, surprisingly, never sound meandering or masturbatory. Hookah are also getting ready for their scheduled package tour to Jamaica in June (or, as they're calling it, "Jamm-aica"), inviting fans to join them for snorkeling, jamming and, undoubtedly, indulging (call Air-Tech at 800-575-8324 for details).
