Engulfing psychedelic rockers Goat, coming straight outta Sweden, have made a name for themselves in their homeland and, gradually, the rest of the world appears to be catching on. Sub Pop Records is helping to facilitate that wider exposure with the upcoming release of the band’s disorienting “Dreambuilding” single (which got a limited early release as a 7-inch on last week’s Record Store Day; Sub Pop releases it everywhere on June 4). It will be the first North American release for the eccentric Goat.

The band members appear to wear masks and costumes and utilize a dizzying light show to create — paired with the band’s huge live sound — a truly compelling concert appearance. The music also has a healthy dose of mystique, with primal rhythms giving “Dreambuilding” a slight World music tint (the band’s 2012 LP was titled World Music, in fact), which is slathered in trippy ornamentation and driven by insistent melodies.

The organizers of Cincy Psych Fest, which debuted last year with a slew of great local and national “Psych Rock” acts, are bringing Goat and Texan Psych ensemble Holy Wave to the Southgate House Revival’s Sanctuary space Friday, part of CPF’s ongoing “Freak-Out Series.”

9 p.m. $10 in advance through ticketfly.com; $12 day of. Southgate House Revival, 111 E. Sixth St., Newport, cincypsychfest.com.
