In the words of Paris Hilton, “Konichiwa, Bitches!” This weekend the Drawbridge Inn and Convention Center is inviting all Shoujos and Shounens to three days of pure cosplay at this year’s SugioCon. Cincinnati’s premier anime convention is packed with even more activities and events than last year.
Workshops will be offered to those who want to learn everything from how to paint a cel to how to assemble a good music video. Beat the best in the “Dance Dance Revolution” extreme arcade game and find out how brilliant your moves truly are. For those who like a slower pace, the Tabletop Gaming Room is back. There will also be panels where you can hear straight from the professionals’ mouths about the Ps and Qs of Japanese culture. Show off your Rock star skills for Saturday’s Third Annual Air Guitar Contest.
On Sunday, join the masses at the newly added afternoon Karaoke session. There will even be a screening room where fans can sit and watch their favorite episodes together. And don’t forget to partake in one of the main events — the SugioCon Formal Ball on Saturday night.
Get to see some of your favorite returning voice-acting guests like Josh Grelle and Brittany Karbowski. You’ll also have the opportunity to rub elbows with this year’s guest of honor, Shinichi Watanabe.
Enjoy a day at the convention for $25 or go all out and splurge for a $45 three-day pass. This year’s SugoiCon takes place at the Drawbridge Inn and Convention Center (2477 Royal Drive, Fort Mitchell). Be sure to ask for the special SugioCon room rate.
