Crafty Supermarket’s Spring Show is the best reason to get out of your house on a potentially rainy (or snowy for that matter) Saturday afternoon. The gathering of 50-plus crafters, artists and designers is going on its fourth year in existence, and the event draws crowds of people interested in buying wares straight from the fabricators.
Like an IRL (in real life) etsy, galleries, home furnishing companies, jewelers and ceramics makers share space in the Clifton Cultural Arts Center among food vendors and art-making demonstrations by sponsors like the Contemporary Arts Center and Smartfish Studio & Sustainable Supply. With 100 swag bags to give away to the first customers in line, go later if you dislike crowds or have accompanying small children. Bring cash just in case — some vendors take credit, but you won’t want to lose your parking spot to find the nearest ATM.
