Hungarian feature White God captures the story of Lili (Zsófia Psotta), a 13-year-old girl with a strong protective love for her dog Hagen, which gets put to the test when her father, unbeknownst to her, releases the dog onto the streets. Lili’s love and faith leads her on a journey to find and save Hagen at all costs. Directed by Kornél Mundruczó (Tender Son: The Frankenstein Project), who co-wrote the script with Viktória Petrányi and Kata Wéber, the film earned two awards at last year’s Cannes Film Festival — Palm Dog (for canines Luke and Body) and Un Certain Regard Award (Mundruczó).
