Grab your passport and head to the Cincinnati Museum Center this weekend. Just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day, the museum is featuring a glimpse into Celtic culture with a festival dedicated to the Celts. Part of the museum’s “Passport to the World” series, this event features a Celtic marketplace with authentic merchandise and goods and a Celtic forest where you will see demonstrations of age-old daily living activities and watch as the Celts engage the Vikings in battle. Kids can also design their own swords and treasure boxes. Establish a tradition by making a coat of arms for your family and learn all about the Celtic Nations in the process, all without stepping on a plane. You will not have to travel far to enjoy authentic entertainment from the McGing Irish Dancers or to hear music from local Celtic bands like Foley Road and Silver Arm. Events are scheduled throughout the day. The Celtic Culture Fest takes place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. In conjunction with the Cincinnati Museum Center, the Duke Energy Children’s Museum is also featuring Celtic art and entertainment. These events are free with admission into the museum.
