Cincinnati ranked No. 5 on a list of best cities to live in for retired veterans, according to a recent study by USAA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Queen City ranked No. 7 for mid-career veterans and No. 8 for new or transitioning veterans. The lists were created to identify metro areas that offered the best opportunities for veterans. President Obama is urging the Federal Communications Commission to adopt “the strongest possible rules to protect net neutrality.” The president said the FCC should prohibit Internet service providers from blocking legal content or speeding up or slowing down content based on the ISP’s preferences. The commission should ensure “that neither the cable company nor the phone company will be able to act as a gatekeeper, restricting what you can do or see online,” Obama said. World +2
On Nov. 10, the White House revealed new guidelines for the Excellent Educators for All initiative, which aims to ensure that low-income schools have the same access to excellent teachers as wealthier schools. The guidelines tell states how to equitably distribute teaching talent between low-income and affluent schools.
