Welcome Back, Summer

CityBeat's 2012 Hot Issue summer guide

Every year spring turns to summer and CityBeat produces a summer guide previewing the season’s various entertainment and cultural offerings, but it’s not every summer that there’s so much to do in this town. From a reinvigorated regional music festival schedule to impressive public art projects to embarking on a physically challenging adventure, it should be easy for even the most bored, air conditioning-lovers among us to make some new plans this summer inspired solely by the feature stories in this issue. And that’s not even including the first-place Reds, annual food and drink festivals, outdoor markets, weekly themed events and tons of local and touring music during the next three months.

We hope you enjoy referencing our Hot 100 Days calendar for event suggestions every day through Labor Day. And if you’re the type of person who feels the need to count the number of days between June 13 and Sept. 3 simply because we put the number 100 in the title, then you have too much time on your hands and should probably keep this guide handy all summer long, lest you get on your family’s nerves and need some outside-the-home recreation of your own.

Be safe out there. Drink lots of water. Enjoy life in Cincinnati this summer.
