The odd species known as Parrotheads finally have a place to roost as CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE opened its "island fantasy" themed restaurant this month in Eastgate (812 Eastgate North Drive, 513-753-4593). Part of the Outback Steakhouse partnership, the concept restaurant is one of a dozen opened since 2002, with heaviest concentration in the Midwest where most sightings of Parrotheads occur. Besides the famed signature cheeseburger with "lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french-fried potatoes," the restaurant features assorted cuisine that includes fresh fish dishes, house specialties "prepared with a Caribbean flair" and New Orleans-inspired creations such as gumbo and barbecue shrimp. Island fare and beach bar favorites round out the menu, and "Little Parakeets" will be able to choose from "fun" choices such as mini-cheeseburgers and chocolate nachos. Cheeseburger in Paradise is open seven days a week with live entertainment and, according to the press release, "special events" like Full Moon Parties. Since Parrotheads are generally known for their erratic behavior and fondness for margaritas, lord only knows what that means.
