Massively successful Cincinnati AltPop band Walk the Moon has announced a July 28 date at Great American Ball Park. The group’s stadium gig is its first in the members' hometown since last year’s MidPoint Music Festival performance at Taft Theatre. The July event is part of “The Ohio Lottery Post-Game Concert Series” following Cincinnati Reds games this summer. So far the only other show announced for the series is Country star Jake Owen, who plays the stadium Aug. 11.
The concerts begin right after the games, which start at 6:40 p.m., meaning music will get going around 10 p.m., barring extra innings or other delays. Tickets for the concerts are game tickets, though you can also upgrade for special on-field passes.
This is actually Walk the Moon's second appearance at GABP — they participated in festivities at the 2015 All-Star Game.
Following the widespread, global success of smash hit "Shut Up and Dance," Walk the Moon’s latest album, What If Nothing, has been doing well, as has their single “One Foot.” Their concerts behind the latest album have also scored good reviews. The band’s Press Restart Tour wrapped up about a month ago and just prior to WtM’s Cincinnati concert they’ll be wrapping up a massive North American tour with 30 Seconds to Mars.
