In the 30 years since Dr. Catherine Roma founded MUSE, Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir, she’s become an iconic figure in choral music and a tireless advocate for social justice. So has MUSE, acknowledged as one of the best women’s choirs in the country and known for its diverse membership, unique repertoire and compelling performances.
Roma is retiring as MUSE’s artistic director, so this spring concert will be a bittersweet occasion. But it promises to be high energy and pure MUSE, with world premieres, audience favorites, sing-alongs and a medley of Aretha Franklin’s greatest hits. A MUSE concert is high on inspiration and the ramped-up emotional energy will make it a beyond-special event.
7:30 p.m. Saturday; 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are offered on a sliding scale, $8-$50, with a suggested price of $20. SCPA Corbett Theater, 108 Central Parkway, Downtown, 513-221-1118, musechoir.org.
