Gay rights supporters everywhere celebrated a momentous victory June 24 when the state of New York legalized same-sex marriage. The liberating moment in history couldn’t have come at a better time — Pride Week is upon us, and those who disagree with the government telling its citizens who to love have extra reason to sport their rainbows. The Cincinnati Pride Equinox 2011 have put together weekend festivities to enjoy whether you're gay, straight or just looking for an opportunity to party. For starters, the Bud Light Pub Crawl will sweep the city Friday. For $10, bar hoppers can board the shuttle and mingle at 15 stops for 16 bars. Northside Tavern will also be hosting "A Lillith Fair" Friday from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. featuring a drag burlesque show, Pride photo shoot and LGBTQ-led musical performances. The second annual Northern Kentucky Pride Festival kicks off bright and early at Goebel Park in Covington Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Adonis Night Club promises Cincinnati’s Hottest Pride Party afterward back in Cincy. This is all just leading up to the anticipated finale: The Cincinnati Pride Parade and Festival from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. at Fountain Square Sunday. If food, drink, shopping booths and a performance by Aiden Leslie aren’t beckoning enough, come out to get acquainted with spunky, spirited members of Cincinnati’s LGBT community.
