Things are going well for comedian John Heffron. His calendar is full, but there are drawbacks. “I’m on the road 48 weeks a year, so I’m sure my wife has a boyfriend by now,” he says from Denver where he’s performing before coming to Cincinnati. “I’m literally going non-stop.” The Michigan native is sort of a Midwestern everyman, and folks easily relate to his jokes. “People know me and like my act because I’m clean,” he explains. “I don’t get too political. I don’t think people want to pay money to see me fake madness at the political system.” Instead he concentrates on the domestic side of life. “I’m at that age where I don’t have kids yet, but I’ve mathematically figured it out. I’m in my early forties, so even if I had a kid yesterday, when that kid moves out of my house I’m going to be 66, and two weeks later I’ll have to move back in with him. I might have mistimed a few things.” Funny Bone on the Levee, Newport.
