Appalachian Festival Featuring Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, Calamity Rain, Wild Carrot & The Roots Bands and More

May 7-9 • Coney Island

Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with this annual family-friendly festival.

The 41st annual Appalachian Festival brings the cultural traditions of Appalachia to Coney Island with down-home crafts, storytelling performances, traditional dance performances, homecookin’ and live music from bands like Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers (pictured), Calamity Rain, Wild Carrot & The Roots Bands, Rabbit Hash String Band and more.

Traditional craftsmen will be on hand to demonstrate crafting techniques and sell their goods, and the “living history village” will feature campers dressed in 1840s clothing demonstrating what life was like in the Appalachian Mountains more than 150 years ago.

Admission is $8 adults, $4 seniors and $2 children. Festival hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. See the live music schedule here.
