Fiona will soon be looking at you from a downtown building.

We interrupt your start of the work week — and of Monday morning — to bring you this breaking news about Cincinnati's most famous resident — Fiona the hippo, who defied odds last year by being born prematurely and not only surviving but thriving under the glare of worldwide media attention.

Today at 3 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Savings Time, if you're reading this in Siberia because you have have a "Fiona" Google alert), the Cincinnati Zoo and ArtWorks will announce plans to collaborate on a new downtown building mural featuring Fiona, according to a media advisory sent out this morning. Thane Maynard from the Cincinnati Zoo and Tamara Harkavy from ArtWorks will be providing details. If you have any ideas (Atop a building facing Fountain Square? On the tiara of the Great American Tower? On the side of the CityBeat building?), there's still some time to let them know.

Coming after last week's announcement that the BLINK festival will return in 2019, this is especially good news for CityBeat readers, who voted BLINK and Fiona one-two in our Best of Cincinnati'a Best New Thing category..
