As spring approaches, Hueston Woods is gearing up to tap their maple trees and celebrate the sweet tradition that is their annual Maple Syrup Festival. 


During the first two weekends in March, the Maple Syrup Festival will celebrate the sugary substance with pancake breakfasts and free maple syrup hiking tours of the park’s Sugar Bush trail, where naturalists will teach about the history of syrup production and demonstrate how sap is collected (includes tastings). Explore the process of maple sugaring, from the methods used by American Indians to the modern methods embraced today.
