MusicNOW brings Toumani Diabate, one of the most important musicians in Africa, to the Cincinnati Zoo for a live concert Sunday.
From Mali, he blends traditional African music with Blues, Jazz, Flamenco and other international styles using his chosen instrument, the kora. The kora is a 21-string harp unique to West Africa.
His most recent release, The Mande Variations, was included in best of 2008 lists by both NPR and The New York Times.
