'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot'

Tina Fey seems to bring a calculated irreverence to Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, the story of journalist Kim Barker’s experiences covering the wars in the Middle East, based on the book The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan. She brings trademark wit, which is smart but not too arch, and will likely play nicely opposite Margot Robbie as a hypersexual correspondent in the trenches. Inquiring minds have to wonder, though, if actual dramatic concerns will factor into the narrative, although if they do, the workmanlike hands of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love and Focus) at the helm should guarantee a steady and calming presence.
