If the Dalai Lama were feeling homesick and wanted to get out of India for a weekend getaway, chances are he’d feel pretty cozy at the Clifton Arts and Cultural Center on Saturday and Sunday. The Gaden Samdrupling Monastery is bringing a little piece of Tibet to Cincinnati in celebration of Tibet Fest 2009. Enjoy the sights, traditions and tastes of this unique culture at this popular annual event. This year’s festivities include a healing service, a film about nomads in Tibet and a photo exhibit showcasing life in a Buddhist Monastery. Vendors will be on hand providing a variety of crafts, bags, incense, jewelry and other items. For those who are weary from a long day of celebrating, an array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine will be offered. All seminars and tastings come with a suggested $10 donation.
