Most holidays, including those of the winter variety, require dogs to dress up in costumes because it’s cute and funny to see dogs in clothes. My roommate’s girlfriend bought my dogs antlers that light up and I get all warm and fuzzy inside when I see them on their furry little heads. My one dog looks like Max from The Grinch (sort of), so that’s extra adorable and hilarious. So why hide your costumed animals at home? Get some pet pride and parade your dog in its Christmas best at the 18th annual Mt. Adams Reindog Parade. Costumes are not limited to antlers. You can dress your dog up in anything festive, as long as it’s safe. The best-dressed dogs are eligible for prizes like Best in Show. The parade begins in the Monastery parking lot (1055 St. Paul Place) at 2 p.m. The free registration begins at 12:45 p.m., but since the SPCA is involved, donations are welcome. There will also be vendors selling hot food, hot drinks, baked goods, dog treats and pet apparel. Puppies and adult dogs will also be showcased in the parade for adoption.
