Forty percent of moms will celebrate Mother’s Day by dining out this year, according to the National Restaurant Association. Others will be cooked for, waited on and showered with love.

The rest — and you know who they are — will be in the kitchen making lunch and dinner for their families. Don’t let this happen to your mother (or wife). There are plenty of deals going on right now. Take that lady out.

Dinner

Trattoria Roma Ristorante. Moms don’t eat for free, but they do receive half off a dinner entrée or free dessert and appetizer with the purchase of two entrées. (Entrées range from $15.95-$26.95.) Trattoria Roma is warm, cozy and quintessential Italian. 609 Walnut St., Downtown, 513- 723-0220.

Mitchell’s Fish Market. Mitchell’s is offering mothers and the people who love them a three-course meal with salad, entrée and dessert for $19.95. Choose from lobster and shrimp cakes, shrimp and scallop mixed grill or Asian salmon duo. Newport on the Levee, Newport, 859-291- 7454.

B B Riverboats. If your mother is coming in from out of town, or if you just want her to feel like a tourist in her own town, B B Riverboats is offering a special Mother’s Day cruise. (Dinner and brunch prices are $27.95 for adults, $26.95 for seniors and $12 for children.) Dinner is standard comfort food: carved baked brown sugar glazed ham, country fried chicken, pasta in a light pesto sauce with julienne vegetables, twice-baked potato casserole, desert and more. Brunch includes sugar-glazed ham, oven-baked cheese omelets, French toast sticks with maple syrup and fresh baked biscuits with country sausage gravy. Brunch

Via Vite. Fountain Square’s favorite dining spot is offering a two-course prix fixe Tuscan brunch for only $20. Entrées include prosciutto and melon crepes, waffles with Nutella and whipped cream and breakfast pizza with egg, pancetta, spinach and fontina. Via Vite will also serve their specialty wood-fired pizzas. Pair any of these with a Sgroppino, Via Vite’s signature drink with grapefruit vodka, prosecco and ruby red grapefruit sorbet, ideal for brunch. 520 Vine St., Downtown, 513-721-VITE.

Palomino. Breakfast and dinner lovers will be happy here, particularly if they like a view of Fountain Square. Palomino is offering a Mother’s Day buffet with everything from smoked bacon, grilled sausage links and roasted apple pancakes to rigatoni Bolognese, paella and grilled chicken Marsala. Chez Nora
. Chez will serve a brunch with everything from fried chicken and mashed potatoes to traditional breakfast items, such as omelets. $20 for mothers, $12 for teens and $6 for kids. Chez Nora has beautiful rooftop dining. Call ahead to make sure it’s open. 530 Main St., Covington, 859-491-8027.

The Phoenix.
