Most of us wouldn’t consider waking up early on Thanksgiving to run several miles before a long day of relaxing ensues. We’d do it any other day, of course, because exercising is, like, really good for you and it’s great to run outside in November.
But on this Thanksgiving Day, much like the previous 100 before it, thousands of runners will hit the streets of Cincinnati for the annual Thanksgiving Day Race. It’s the sixth oldest race in America and has only been skipped twice — in 1918 due to World War I (stupid wars) and in 1936 due to management problems (stupid managers).
The race begins at 9 a.m. at Paul Brown Stadium and the 10K runners’ divisions will range from 15-and-under to 70-plus. A post-race party will take place on the Plaza Level of Paul Brown, where everyone can give thanks that running keeps your body so warm. Registration starts at 7 a.m. the day of the race and costs $35.
