Time is running out to catch the 21st annual Cincinnati Flower Show at Symmes Township Park. Called “The king of all flower shows” by Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, this event features garden exhibits ranging from “Creative Containers” to “Dramatic Table Settings,” along with a Grand Marquee pavilion that houses dozens of exhibits from African violets to exotic wild flowers, hydrangeas, roses, ferns, Wordsworth's Golden Daffodils and fragrant Hyacinths. Special events throughout the show include flower happy hours, picnics in the park, guest lectures by people like author and TV/radio host Ethne Clarke, garden expert Denny McKeown and horticultural therapist Jan Doherty. This weekend closes out the show with the “Small Wonders Weekend.” Throughout the weekend children are invited to imagine, create, explore and learn. Saturday is “Fairy and Frogs Day” where children are encouraged to come dressed in costume, make a fairy wand and receive a free sample of fairy dust.
10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. General admission runs $15-$25 with additional costs for some special events. Get event details and find nearby bars and restaurants here.
