Outside of getting a new chew toy or changing up the typical walk route, life as man's best friend can get a little monotonous. Instead of taking Spot for a stroll around that same old block this weekend, why not give him a little exercise somewhere new for a good cause? This Sunday, you and your pooch can help knock out breed stereotypes while raising awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. If this good deed isn't treat-worthy, nothing is. Good Deeds for Bullied Breeds will be hosting the Pittie Please Find a Cure Walk in at England-Idlewild Park in Burlington, Ky., and whether you're a pit bull owner or just a loyal fan, you can do your part to help. While dog owners walk their dogs together for the cause, pit owners from all over will be able to demonstrate that these pups with a "vicious" reputation are just a bunch of tail-wagging, people-loving do-gooders like any other breed. You and your furry friends can stroll through vendor booths, demonstrations and musical performances. Food will be available as well, and if you or someone you know is looking for an additional four-legged family member, rescue adoptions will be available on the site. All breeds are welcome and registration begins at 11 a.m., an hour before the walk. If you and your canine companion aren't into all that exercise, check out the silent auction going on at the park until 1:45 p.m. The entire event runs until 3 p.m. Don't miss this chance to lend a hand (or paw) as the final dog days of summer wind down.
