Marc Maron returns to Cincinnati this Thursday on his Out of the Garage Tour. Instead of playing one of the area’s comedy clubs, he’ll perform at Bogart’s, an unusual venue of sorts for the veteran comic, but not totally foreign. “I’ve done a few Rock clubs,” Maron says from his home in Los Angeles. “Some are tricky. We’ll see how it goes. It’s going to be fun.” He doesn’t expect his show to be any different than it would be at a comedy club. “You’re still gonna get me, there are no pyrotechnics. I don’t have a drum riser or anything.” Maron, of course, is the host of the hugely popular podcast WTF with Marc Maron, which receives more than 400,000 downloads a week, a show he started from the ashes of the old Air America radio network. Unlike that gig, Maron talks very little politics on his podcast, and he’s happier for it. “I don’t miss it at all,” he says. “It’s a narrative you have to keep up with. I became a little disillusioned. And it’s damaging to be partisan as a stand-up without balancing it out and looking beyond the politics.” $27.50. 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14. Bogart’s, 2621 Vine St., Corryville. 513-872-8801, bogarts.com.
