All the Day Holiday, Pomegranates and More

Dec. 26 • 20th Century Theater

The holidays are a good time to be a music fan who lives in a town that's harvested a lot of talented musicians. Many of the ones who have moved away come back home for a visit and want to play a show. Bands that live around here and tour a lot might offer local fans a special performance, something often more casual and fun than usual. And the rest of them are working to buy holiday gifts and/or impress their own out-of-town friends by playing a big-time show.

Two of Cincinnati's most likely next-big-thing contenders (not that they aren’t doing really well as it is), All the Day Holiday (pictured) and Pomegranates spent 2009 working superb new records. ATDH's lush Dream Pop was introduced to the world via All the Things We've Grown to Love, their stunning debut for Linc Star/Warner Brothers, while the Poms continued their underground surge with the magical Everybody, Come Outside! (which also saw release in the U.K.) on Lujo Records.

On Saturday, the bands team up with The Lee Roessler Band and The Never Setting Suns for a post-Christmas shindig at the 20th Century Theater in Oakley.
