Kenton County Parks Halloween Weekend: Features scary and silly Halloween fun for everyone. The Haunted Halloween Trail is a moderately scary trail populated with all manner of demons. Follow the lit jack-olanterns to the trail’s beginning. A hayride takes you back to your car from the end. Lines open from 7-10:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and the trail stays open until everyone’s gone through. Bring your roundest pumpkin, free of any alterations, to the Great Pumpkin Races. Participants roll their pumpkins down an incline to compete for the candy and other goodies. Registration is noon-12:45 p.m. and the races begin at 1 p.m. Oct. 24. Both events are free, but participants are encouraged to donate canned goods and personal hygiene supplies for Kenton County’s needy residents. The races are at Shelterhouse 2. Augusta Ghost Tour: The city of Augusta, Ky., hosts their annual Augusta Ghost Tour. Tours depart from the old 1811 jail and travel the streets of Augusta, stopping at houses where the owners tell stories about the spirits living inside.
